Its another champions league fixture of the 19/20 campaign. Chelsea locks on to Valencia in the second half of the group stage.

Valencia won Chelsea in the first match of the competition against Chelsea  in a dramatic 1 goal to nil. Chelsea hung in the competition on other fixtures and are currently on the table hanging with same point with the table leader Ajax.

Frank Lampard would know the purpose of going to mestalla and would know the risk of not getting a win in the upcoming game.

‘Its a must win and we know it’ said frank Lampard. With full awareness of qualification if his team wins the game or have their hand for a chance if it comes only with a draw.

‘We lost ground against Valencia in the first game and we have done well to cover up for it. I’ve always known it’d be a difficult group and playing against those teams isn’t easy because we know how hard it is to go to their home and win them’

‘it doesn’t mean we’re out if we lose but pushes us to a tight condition, but right now we’re focused on what’s in front of us and a chance for clearer qualification’

Injury updates

Callum Hodson-Odoi isn’t available for the Champions League match as he didn’t travel alongside others but has been seen getting better through the week and might have an opportunity to play by weekend.

Rudiger was seen in action during the week also and might be opposing the stimulated timing for his injury. As known it could take months before but as opposed with hard training, Rudiger might feature in days or weeks.
