Billy Clifford Gilmour is a Scottish U-21 player currently in Chelsea U-23 team.
Gilmour featured in Frank Lampard’s first two preseason games at Dublin back in July before he returned to start the season with our development team.
He’s been very impressive, coupled with his tenacious and energetic display, Gilmour scored against Manchester City in PL2 before Frank Lampard named him to bench in the senior team against Sheffield united at Stamford Bridge where he debuted his first Premier League match.
Gilmour was named the Player of the month for August in PL2. He has to his name some goals and assists in this seasons campaign.
He was rewarded by a new four years contract deal last Thursday, Gilmour became the first Scot to play for Chelsea when he was subbed on for Tammy Abraham last time out.
“its really exciting for me and my family to sign this contract” he said”.
“Frank has come in and everyone is buzzing, training is really good and there’s a high standard to everything we do. There are exciting times ahead and I hope to work hard to get more opportunities as well”.
‘Been one of the younger players last season, this season I want to be recognized as one of senor figures in the dressing room, make sure I attain a high standard and am pushing the team in the right way’ he replied when asked about his involvement with our development squad’.
’The team is good enough and we’ve started the season very well so I don’t see reason to not challenging and winning the league.
Individually, I want to make sure I’m involved more in the senior team as much as possible’.
Gilmour will feature for the young Blues at Stamford bridge when they take on Brighton on Friday in Premier League 2.
