Hodson-Odoi curled a nice strike from a close range into the net following a nice 25 yard pass from Reece James who has also scored and assisted on his debut for the senior team.

Having six academy players on pitch as  starters against Grimsby, the lads were so professional and has lot of potential. Chelsea moves to the fourth round of the carabao cup after the surprising thrashing of 7-1 to Grimsby.

Chelsea had Billy Gilmour who can be tagged as the Fabregas of the game, distributing lot of passes and missing few, Gilmour’s performance was up to par and should earn a seat in the senior team.

Goals from Michy Batshuayi, Ross Barkley, Pedro, Zouma, James and Hodson-Odoi gave the home team the wonderful and deserved win. Opening Lampard’s first home win since being signed as the clubs manager.

However Chelsea was unable to get their first clean sheet of the season as Grimsby’s Green fired a rocket shot above Caballero in the 19th minute.

Ian Maatsen and Liz Anjorin came on as substitutes to mark their debut in the first team But Guehi played a full match in his debut instead.

Hodson-Odoi sealed the match in the 89th minute in a low curly shot finding the side of the goalkeeper into the net.

Ross Barkley opened the chart with a lovely solo run into the box on the 4th minute and pulled a low shot into the net.

Batshuayi scored brace in the match and struggled hard to get a hat trick. Pedro scored a Penalty after Zouma has been taken down in the box.

Zouma and Reece James also both scored wonderful goal with Reece assisting Zouma with a fine cross into the box for a tap in.
